About Faraway Garden

"... and the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles." Frances Hodgson Burnett

Faraway Garden can be found in a valley, nestled beneath a winding hill range an hour or so from Auckland city, New Zealand. The landscape of the garden slopes gently down to spurs of old native trees that shade a river.

Gertrude Jekyll said, "A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all it teaches entire trust.” And, to us, this is what makes a garden so wonderful - the changes, the challenges, the unexpected, the sense of being a very fortunate custodian - and being part of the beauty that is everywhere, every day. From the dew on a spider’s web at dawn to the layers of evening shadows as far as the eye can see.

As we create our garden, we are also crafting and sourcing a collection of lasting outdoor objects to complement its spaces. Pieces that give a home to flowers, plants and trees; provide dynamic and restorative blue space and add an extra layer of artistry and interest to the landscape.

We would love others to enjoy these pieces in their gardens or outdoors too.
